Parenting Courses

In partnership with Brookside Methodist Church, our first Parenting Course took place in  the Summer of 2009, focused on parents of children aged 5-15 years, and was based on resource material from the Family Care Trust.

One of those taking part said:

It’s given me a lot more confidence as a parent, and it was really helpful to chat and share ideas with others.  It wasn’t at all how I thought it might be, as no one was telling us what we ought to do – but together we thought through new skills and ways of doing thing which have made a big difference in our family.  It was also great fun!

Courses 2010

Beginning in April, we are running two 10-session parenting courses this year: both providing a chance to share with other parents in an informal and friendly way.  There is a maximum of 20 places on each course.

COURSE 1: Tuesdays, 9.15am-11.30am (0-6years) 27th April; 4, 11, 18, 25 May; 8, 15, 22, 29 June; 6 July.

COURSE 2: Wednesdays, 7.45pm-9.45pm (5-15years) 28th April; 5, 12, 19, 26 May; 9, 16, 23, 30 June; 7 July.

Each course costs £7 for each participant (to cover the cost of the course booklet and resources from The Family Caring Trust)

All adults involved in running the course are CRB checked, and Course 1 includes a Creche facility.
